Introducing Hazelnut
The hazelnut (Corylus avellana) is a deciduous shrub native to temperate climates, found in parks, woodland edges and gardens. Its bushes, which flower in the spring, are distinctive in appearance and the fruit ripens at about the same time. Not to be confused with peanuts, which are taxonomically a legume!

Hazelnuts are versatile and delicious! They are delicious raw, roasted, in cakes or coated in chocolate. Tip: if you buy hazelnuts in shell, toast them lightly to remove the shell more easily!
